We’re pretty sure that a lot of Nexus fans are barely waiting to see the Nexus 5 (2015) released. Since Nexus 5 was a real success, Google is preparing us a new Nexus 5 model (2nd generation) that will arrive later this year.

Nexus 5 was and still is a good device, but by improving a few of its features, the developers can make it even better. Today we’re going to talk a bit about the Nexus 5 (2013) version and the features that should be brought to the Nexus 5 (2015) in order to make it one of the best 2015 smartphones.

Nexus 5 (2013): Specs

The Nexus 5 (2013) came with an 4.96inch True HD IPS+ capacitive touchscreen that supports a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels at 445ppi. The device features a Quad-core Krait 400 clocked at 2.3GHz, an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM and has an internal storage of 16GB or 32GB. The Nexus 5 (2013) has a primary camera of 8MP that features autofocus, optical image stabilization and LED flash and it is found on the rear side of the device. Nexus 5 (2013)’s secondary camera is only 1.3MP and it’s found on the front side.

The Nexus 5 (2013) comes with a non-removable Li-Po 2300 Ah battery which gets „wasted” pretty fast. As we’ve already told you above, the device comes with a pretty big screen that supports a high resolution of 1080×1920 pixels at 445ppi. This means that your device will barely withstand for an entire day if you are surfing the internet or playing games. In addition, the battery can’t be changed, which is a big downside.

Rumors say that the Nexus 5 (2015) will feature a 2700 mAh battery, but that’s not enough for this device. To make sure that the Nexus 5 (2015) will last an entire day without any problems, the developers will need to bring a battery of at least 3000 mAh.

Another feature that needs to be improved is the internal storage. The Nexus 5 (2013) features two variants of 16GB and 32GB and neither of them can be expanded. The Nexus 5 (2015) will most likely feature 64GB internal storage, but in order to please all the Nexus fans, the developers will have to introduce a microSD card slot.

Nexus 5 (2015) release date

Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to be released this fall, sometime in October or November. It is rumored that Google will release two Nexus devices, one that will be the successor of Nexus 6 and will be made by Huawei (codenamed „Huawei Angler) and the Nexus 5 (2015) that will be made by LG (codenamed „LG Bullhead”).

For now, there’s not many information about Nexus 5 (2015), but according to MobiPicker the device will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, a 2700 mAh battery and it will run on the upcoming Android M OS.
